The University of Manchester and DisabledGo have worked in partnership to create the first accessibility app for a University.
The free app features lots of different accessibility information. All the buildings and facilities included have been assessed by a member of the DisabledGo team. It includes info like the nearest accessible loos, whether buildings are wheelchair friendly, maps and directions, and the locations of car parking, changing places, ramps, lifts and more.
Also, the FindMeNow emergency locator sends a text or email of the user’s location to an emergency contact. The app is compatible with Apple’s VoiceOver software and Android’s Talkback, so it can be used by everyone.
