My FutureFest returns – 10-12 February 2015
Not sure what you want to do after finishing at University? Or are you looking to get some work experience or an internship to help you on your way to a dream job? The University’s My Future Fest is coming back to campus next week, with main events taking place at University Place and the Students’ Union to help you find out more about graduate life.
The teepee at last year’s My FutureFest – look out for the igloos this year!
After the success of last year’s teepee, there will be three domes outside University Place on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th 12-5pm, each with its own theme. In the Explore dome you can find out more about the services that the University already has at your disposal for advice, with stands from the Students’ Union, Careers Service and The Atrium. The Experience dome gives you information about things that you can do while studying to help your CV to stand out from the crowd, with stands for Internships and Work Experience, Sport, Study Abroad and University College. Finally, the Connect dome gives you an opportunity to find out how to contact other people who may be useful to know to help your career, through the Alumni Office, Manchester Gold Mentoring and Peer Support. If that isn’t enough, there will also be a professional photo booth run by LinkedIn, a selection of free hot drinks, food and also competitions in which you could win an iPad Air or iPad Mini 2.
Then on Thursday 12th 11am-3pm, the My FutureFest Fair will be in Academy 2 in the Students Union, where you’ll be able to get advice from a range of employers and services, from Teach First to The Government Operational Research Service. Throughout next week there are also many fringe events either open to all students or specific to faculties and schools, and you can see a full list of these on the My FutureFest website.
My FutureFest will also be in the iZone from 12-2pm every day next week, so come along to find out more about the Manchester Graduate Internship Programme.
