Next week (6th-10th October) is Student Money Essentials Week in The Atrium and The iZone and we have lots planned! The Student Money Adviser will be running Money MOTs on Wednesday 10am-12 and 2pm-4pm in The Atrium. So if you’re struggling with your finances and need a bit of help come along to these drop in sessions. Everyone who has a Money MOT will not only get some excellent financial advice, they will also get a free calculator!
This time of year a lot of students are worried about bursaries; will they get one, why didn’t they get one, how much will they receive, how do they apply. If you share any of these concerns, or have your own questions regarding bursaries, come to the Bursary Workshop on Thursday at 2pm in The Atrium.
There will also be drop-in sessions on Thursday between 10am-12 in The Atrium, so feel free to come along and speak to the Student Money Adviser. She can give guidance on a whole range of financial matters, from big to small issues.
We’re also running some competitions in The Atrium and iZone so come along, find out some information and see how lucky you are!
- Piggy Bank Challenge: Guess how much change is in the Piggy Bank and you could win the piggy bank – and the cash!
- Supermarket Challenge: How much could you save buying non-branded rather than branded items during your weekly shop? Guess how much each shop cost and you could win all the food in the basket.
- Money Tree: Money doesn’t grow on trees but the advice on our Money Tree might help you save some! Write down your top money tip and hang it on the tree – the best tip will win a £10 Amazon voucher.
Keep your eyes peeled for lots more going on in Student Money Essentials Week, including a careers workshop dealing with working part time alongside your studies.
